HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Hello and welcome to the last edition of The Bridge for 2008. There is no doubt that this year has been a turbulent one indeed, which is why we’ve included a must-read overview of the economy and interest rate forecasts for the New Year. Tinus has also outlined a new GhostConvey concept that will make the submission of bridging finance applications that much simpler.

So until we meet again in 2009, the Quince Property Finance team would like to thank you for all your support. We wish you, your families and colleagues all the blessings of the Festive Season.

PS: our offices will be open for business during the holidays.

Dewaal Basson
National Sales and Marketing Manager

ALWAYS LOOKING ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

The world has changed a lot over the last year and is continuing to change around us. We have a world economy under pressure, a new world leader in the form of US president elect Barack Obama and a rapidly changing political environment in SA. These changes bring with them a combination of fear and hope. Although as individuals we cannot necessarily change the broader economic and political environment we can change our reaction to the changes. We can choose to focus on the fear or choose to rejoice knowing that with change comes hope and an opportunity for growth.

We at Quince have taken a positive approach and are actively looking for ways to improve our service offering and also to expand our product range. As such, as our partners and lead providers, your suggestions, advice and complaints are invaluable to us. Email De Waal at dewaalbasson@quince.co.za.

BRIDGING IS NOW EASIER THAN EVER BEFORE

Tinus van Kampen (Operations Manager)

As you well know, applying for bridging finance with the wrong bridging partner can be a hassle, to say the least. Now BFASA (Bridging Finance Association of South Africa), together with Korbitec, the provider of GhostConvey, is in the process of developing a bridging finance solution that will simplify and shorten this process dramatically. ARE WE AT THE TOP OF THE CYCLE AND WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD?

Johann le Roux (General Manager)

Although times are tough in the property industry, it is important to realise that South Africans across all sectors are feeling the pinch. Inflation has been the key factor in determining the level of interest rates. Read more.

JEAN’S TIPS

Although Jean is the leader of the Quince Credit Team, those who know her think of her more as a shoulder to lean on, a sounding board for new ideas and a source of good advice. Which is why we’ve asked Jean to jot down some tips on how to make your interaction with Quince even easier.

TIP: Most conveyancing firms close a little earlier on a Friday so if you are sending through an Application form - please do so as early as possible.

If you have any questions or tips that you’d like to share with us, email Jean on jeanvisser@quince.co.za.

BIZQUIZZ

In the last issue of The Bridge we asked what you opinion of bridging finance is. A resounding 100% of the respondents said that they found it to be a great tool.

This time we’re asking what percentage of your property sales collapse because the purchasers cannot come up with costs?

Tip of the quarter

When sending us an application, please include as much detail as possible on your letterhead regarding the status of the transaction. This will speed up the credit vetting process and can eliminate a lot of unnecessary phone calls.
